The Pocket Walk series was generated by walking in Los Angeles. Each piece for Pocket Walks is made up of four parts: a found text that was letterpress printed, a thirty-five millimeter photograph that was chosen from a roll of film taken on the walk, a map of the route hand traced from a Google Earth map, and an etching. This last component is created by leaving a soft-ground coated zinc plate in my pocket throughout the walk to register the motion of my stride through wear on the plate with the resulting marks being etched and printed.
